Compatible devices
A travelwithmiru plan is an eSIM, a SIM built into your device rather than a card you slot in. Almost every phone sold since 2019 supports one. Here's how to check yours in thirty seconds, and the full list of what works.
The 30-second check
The quickest test works on any phone, whatever the make:
- Open the dialler and type *#06#. If a line labelled EID appears, a long string of digits, your device has an eSIM and can use our plans.
- No EID? Check your settings instead. On iPhone, go to Settings → General → About and look for an Available SIM or EID entry. On Android, search the Settings app for eSIM or SIM manager.
Worth checking before you buy, because we cannot check it for you, a website has no way to see what your phone supports. If you do buy a plan and then find your phone can’t use it, an uninstalled plan is fully refundable for 30 days.
Supported phones
This covers the overwhelming majority of devices in use today. If yours isn’t named but was bought in the last few years, run the check above, the list moves faster than any page can.
Apple
- iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, and every iPhone since
- iPhone SE (2nd generation, 2020) and later
- iPad Pro, Air, and mini with cellular, from 2018 onward
- Pixel 3 and later (Pixel 3 excluded in a few regions)
- Pixel 4a, 5a and every Pixel “a” model since
Samsung
- Galaxy S20 and later, including Ultra and FE models
- Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold, all generations
- Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra
Others
- Motorola Razr (2019) and later Razr models
- Recent Oppo Find, Huawei P and Mate, and Sony Xperia flagships
- Windows laptops with built-in cellular, and iPads and Android tablets with a data plan
What won’t work
- Carrier-locked phones. If your device is tied to a specific network, it may refuse an eSIM from anyone else. Ask your carrier to unlock it, usually free once any contract is paid off.
- Phones from before eSIM. Most handsets sold before 2019, and budget models that skip the feature to save cost.
- A handful of region-specific models. Some phones sold in mainland China and Hong Kong ship without eSIM hardware even where the global version has it.
